Hi Dr Wentz....I am a 46 year old woman and diagnosed with hypothryold since I was 20 years old. In the last four months, following a toxic response to the antibiotic levaquin......suddenly my relatively controlled thyroid moved into hyperthyroid range.....I became super anxious/panic attacks ( i am a psychotherapist and certainly open to the idea that I suddenly have developed an anxiety disorder)...however, with the change in my thyroid and a newly developed tiny cyst/nodule found (too small to biopsy) -- I want to be sure my endocrine system is fine before leaping into panic disorder. All of this to ask....I do not think I have Hashimoto's (the test for that came back within range)....but for the first time in 26 years am off all medications as doc wants to see me in three more weeks to get better baseLine. is your book still relevant for me even if I don't have hashimoto's but simply a thyroid that seems to be "waking up" on its own and I may Land ultimtely in either hyper or hypo camp. The anxiety/strange thoughts, jitteriness, pain in eyes and then dry Eyes are tough.....but will hopefully resolve soon. Thanks for your time
My hair has never been the same since being switched to Synthroyid. Lots of hair loss and texture totally different
I want to know how to maintain my hair after pregnancy! I have always had very fine, thin hair, but post partum has taken half of it away each time and I always just want to cry, and often do. I have tried many supplements to regrow and maintain, or prevent it from falling out after i have my babies, but the ONLY thing that has helped my hair regrow or even become thicker is actually being pregnant. Sometimes I wish I could be pregnant forever just so I can have my fuller, thicker, healthier looking hair. :(
I had thick hair so by the time I realized I was losing it, it was half gone. At the same time I started taking fish oil and drinking acv. No change for a few months till by chance (seeing a different doctor to my own who had this info and did nothing with it) told me my ferritin level was on 5 and I should start iron shots immediately which I did. Double shots monthly for 5 months, then 1 for maintenance. It took almost a year for all this to come together and it stopped but it's not the same texture anymore.
My endocrinologist is from India, and she has recommended ashwaghanda daily for hair loss. I found it helps if taken dily, but I have so many meds/supplements to take daily, I sometimes don't take it.
The first 90 days of 5000 mcgs veg capsule of Biotin ( 1 daily) reduced my hair loss to a few normal strands of loss during my hair washings. I now take a 5000 mcg capsule 3x a week to maintain. Praise God!
I was diagnosed a year with hypothyroidism but I had symptoms over ten years which overtime progress. I am on levothyroxine. Most of my symptoms are under control but not my hair loss. It's really depressing. I had to cut my hair just to ease it from falling. It's really dry and frizzy. I've tried all home remedies but nothing seems to work.
Need your help have an overactive thyroid and am now better but I suffer from yeast infections every month what can I do get rid of this issue
I have Hashimoto's & I still have bouts of large amounts of hair loss, & in between it just doesn't recover. Even on Natural Dessicated Thyroid it makes no difference.. the hair loss seemed worse on T3 Liothyronine... 🤔
I was diagnosed with Hashimotos when I was 15 years old. Now 33. I had always lost what I thought was plenty of hair but was always told it was normal. Wasn't until I went aip a few years ago and natural thyroid extract instead of synthetic t4 that it stopped. Now I hardly lose any.
